»This year was the 35th anniversary of the accident [in Chernobyl], and just in May, I visited a large exhibition dedicated to this event. I was very much touched by this topic. And just about that period, you wrote to me about this project, when I had quite fresh knowledge and thoughts on the topic. So I decided to little dive into the context and go on an excursion to Chernobyl.«

» I asked the current workers of the station what it is like to work there now, what they felt and know about the accident and life before it or what their parents told them«

»And also saw what the city of Pripyat looks like. The view is a little shocking when you saw photos and videos of specific places in the once-prosperous city, but now it more resembles a forest, in which you can see abandoned houses. Everything seen and heard was put together in these photos.«

Olena Kryvoruchko, 26 years old. Originally, I'm from the small town of Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk region. I have been living in Kyiv since 2012. In 2018, I graduated from the National Pedagogical University with a master's degree in Mathematics. For several years I worked as a business analyst, and now hold the position of project manager. These skills help me organize not only work projects but also my personal ones. During my study at university, I attended in parallel at an art center, where I communicated with different creative people. Photography turned out to be the perfect thing for me. It can give a quick result, it often implies communication with different people and the exchange of emotions which is very important for me. So I have been photographing for several years and am thrilled with this.
